The Stop Line Way, a 50-mile trail in Somerset and Dorset, follows the line of the Taunton Stop Line, a network of World War II defences erected in 1940-41 to counter a potential German invasion. Walkers encounter pillboxes and anti-tank structures, traversing hills, valleys, and coastlines between Highbridge and Seaton. The route mixes footpaths and lanes, offering historical insight and scenic views.
